    Red face

Hi, I doubt that any of you has ever had a problem like this with such a great mouse...everytime i try to move the mouse left-->right and right-->left really really fast, it sorta "hangs" or lags and doesnt travel to the end of my desktop...however, when I move the mouse up and down, there is no problem. Any suggestions?

Are you using a mouse pad??
The Mouse works on patterns it sees with the light and though its highly doubtful that your moving it straight across but it might cause a problem if you are using a pad with a pattern thats similar going across but not vertically.
Hope that makes sense. =) try getting the mouse replaced too =)and of course settings in your Control panel under mouse might need a look too.

    yeah

Somehow the mouse's laser doesn't detect "twitches." I thought this might be a bad thing since I play of a lot of Counter Strike and Quake but you get use to it. Turn up the sensitivity and mess around with it for your fit.

I was reading some reviews on the explorer before I bought it, and they recommend that the 3M precise surface works best for the explorer, and I have to agree, as I have experienced no lag in response ever since I started using it.

you need to turn the sensitivity of your mouse up considerably if you are having problems with this "snagging." when you move the mouse so fast that the refresh rate of the optical sensor is not able to recognize movement, it will simply stay put. this means that the sensitivity of your mouse is set so low that in order to move across the screen, you have to quickly move your mouse all the way across your mousepaad. my intellimouse explorer requires movement no more than 3 inches to move the pointer across the screen.
