WMA is very similar to MP3, according to Microsoft it sounds better at the same bit rate relative to MP3.Originally posted by AmRivlin

I use .wma on my nomad II. It is nice because you can fit almost twice as many songs in the same space. I do notice a the audio quality isn't quite as good at this compression but it's not much of a difference and for the increase in capacity I think it is worth it, especially if you are just using it for background music while you study or work out.
