It's a shame that Bush declined that debate, forcing Gore to withdraw, followed by Nader and Buchanan. It would have been interesting to hear Bush and Gore talk about government ethics.

    Thumbs up good link!

that was the BEST debate I saw all year; less BS and more 'out there' comments than any of the 3 bore/gush fests

Arrow Best Quotes:Harry Browne Libertarian Candidate

"The answer is to reduce government to it's absolute minimum and then we won't care who's in washington"

"Government is good at one thing; it gnows how to break your legs and then hand you a crutch and say 'see, if it weren't for the government you couldn't walk'"

"We are not going to solve the problems created by government by taking the Bill of Rights away from us"

"...it doesn't matter if you do drugs, it doesn't matter if you're a terrorist, YOU are the one whose home could be searched and seized, YOU are the one whose email is being monitored, YOU are the one whose phone could be tapped, YOU are the one whose bank account is being rummaged through by treasury agents. We have the Bill of Rights for a reason, Let's Restore It."

I have to agree. That debate proved how highly intelligent and ethically-sound the three candidates are. Bush and Gore most likely declined enterring this debate for fear of appearing to be even more ignorant and dimwitted than they are already seen and assumed to be. Howard Phillips and Harry Browne even threw in some jokes here and there, some poking fun at Bush and Gore. It's a shame this debate was not on a major network, but alas, only the politically elite of America care to watch C-span.
