DVD drives

Can anyone tell me what to look for in a good DVD ROM drive? (IDE)

Also, how can you tell if it is capable of reading CDR and CDRW media?

Personally I prefer the slot loader DVD-ROM. Yes it reads CD-R/RW

I think slot loaders look cool as hell, but watch out, they may have trouble loading smaller sized discs, ive seen a drive jammed by a promo disc that was the size of a credit card and it wasnt covered under warrenty.
