If anyone here is in the Bay Area, particularly in the UC Berkeley area, can you give me some information about any reliable body shops around here? My car slide out in the water and went up the curb. I wanna take it to someone to check my alignment, control arms, rims, etc. Thanks for any info anyone can give me.

I'd be interested in the same, just in the South Bay.
Have a lot of minor things that I could get fixed if the price is right.

hey! you in the Berkeley area too? I'm sorry I can't help, but I asked this a while ago and I know Apex himself knows a lot of places nearby. Not exactly in Berkeley, but pretty close in the Bay Area. try to contact him. Or maybe he'll read this thread soon.

What kind of car? There's a good place in Berkeley/Oakland for German cars called (go figure) Germany's Best. The mechanics there are pretty cool and won't screw you over. They may be kinda pricey for basic stuff, though.

Thanks Ice-9 for the tip. But unfortunately, my car ain't German. I drive a 1997 Nissan Maxima. I would like to get this fixed soon, so I can maybe drive home for Thanksgiving. If not, I gotta hitch a ride from someone.

Apex, are you out there?! PLEASE HELP US!! Thanks!

Too bad. I drive a Porsche.

Sometimes. When it's not in the shop.

What model do you drive? Year? My father has an '81 928 and he has constant problems with it.

It's an '85 944. I bought it just recently, and it's been in the shop for about 10 times the amount of time I've been driving it. [sigh] But it sure does beat those rice rockets that a bunch of people drive here in Berkeley. I LOVE dragging against Civics. It's just funny.

I'm trying to learn more about it so I can do the minor work myself, but all my freakin' tools are US, not metric!
