    Removing Vocals (Again)

I posted a thread months ago about removing vocals from a song and I didn't have much luck finding a good program

Well, a friend asked if I could remove vocals from a 46 year old tune. I am thinking that I could get an LP record which may have stereo and then see if I could tamper with the settings. It appears that on old records and tapes that the voice was on one channel and the background was on the other.

Does anyone know when stereo was introduced?

According to this site, it was September 9th, 1958 (Stereo records and phonographs introduced). So if that record is from 1960, you have a fighting chance!
