I don't know if I can take credit on this one. I was at the zoo today and as part of their summer nights (they stay open until 9:00pm with the gates open until 8:00) they have several other things going on. One was this unusual play (I guess you could call it):
The Living Garden presents
"Force of Nature"
Featuring "The Fountain", "Mercury" and "Divine".
Shows 3:30, 4:30, 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30
Didn' really get the story but this woman on stilts and wrapped in grapes and vines so that all you see is her face comes out and the statue of Mercury eats one of her grapes and comes more alive and seems to fall in love with her. Then this fountain comes to life and he is intrigues by her. She has control of water and he is impressed by that. She controls spouts the come from the base she is on as well as the ends of her fingers. He eventually drinks some of her water (she offered him some in a gobblet) and then he is once again turned back into a statue. I think. There was no dialogue.
Anyhow, this was the 6:30 performance which meant that the sun was starting to go down and there was a combination of light and shadows on the stage. They had lights, but the dominant light was the sun. I captured the moment, but did not create it. There are people who try to create photographs like this. I may share pictures of the other two players later.
