Access Control List Festival? Who woulda thunk?

JK. Flaming Lips are cool. I heard they rocked the planet at Coachella a couple of years ago.

my friend who went just called me earlier today when she got back, and she just went on and on and on about who she saw and who was unexpectedly good, and who was so-so, etc.

made me hate my life just a little bit...

from what i can remember of her report, off the top of my head, she said she enjoyed the Raconteurs, Damian Marley, Ween, and Willie Nelson.

she really went to see ben harper tho, and she got to the 2nd row for that show and loved it, of course; apparently the marleys came out towards the end and they all sang "Get Up, Stand Up" together. and then Muse came on, and she was raving about them as well.

she didn't particularly like I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness, who she had never heard of before ACL, and she didn't get to see Flaming Lips (time conflict with Ben Harper, who she absolutely loves) or Explosions in the Sky, but she heard both of them put on great shows.

i don't remember anything else, but she really had a great time. and she succeeded in making me feel like i really missed out.

The Raconteurs were alright. I don't really like them but they put on an OK performance. Really, I was just there to see Jack White play.

Damian Marley was pretty cool to see. Sadly, my contact got all messed up and caught in the top of my eye and I had to take it out so I spent half of that concert staring at the ground.

I Love You but I've Chosen Darkness is a local band with a big following and a ****ty name. I did'nt bother checking them out though. I was camping out for Ghostland Observatory, a much cooler local band who puts on a hell of a show

Muse's show was amazing kick ass rock n roll. I'm not a fan of the band. I dislike them quite a bit but I went and checked them out anyways because I figure their music, if anything, is best fit for a large massive stage and audience. They rocked so hard I'm sure anyone close to the stage without earplugs had ringing for a few days.

The other stuff I saw was all pretty good too, except for TV On The Radio which let me down. Part of it was due to a ****ty sound guy but they were still boring.

Oh ya, Ben Kweller was sort of a crappy deal too. He had an intense double nosebleed as soon as he came out and he couldn't stop it. He was bleeding all over his guitar and hands. He tried to go on (put a tampon in his nose which a friend of mine threw at the stage :hehe but eventually stopped after just a couple of songs.
