So I blew a Coil Pack on my 1.8T

So what the heck is the Coil Pack anyway? In all seriousness, I find that it is quite common on the 1.8T VW/Audi engines. So my concern at this point how is the 2.0T? I am looking to switch to a 06-07 GTI. I got a A4 2.0T as a loaner and it was a lot of fun. Turbo lag was much more reasonable than the 1.8T. Plus it had a bit more of a kick. But I'm kinda of weary about VW engine after this whole coil blowing out incident. Any one go any info or heard anything?

One thing I do know is that the price for VW parts are outrageous.

good read! thanks mechmike! makes much more sense now. Seems the 2.0s are less prone to having this problem. But I think I should consider other alternatives.
Not sure I'd get an Acura. I only like the TL at this point and I don't feel like exceeding 25k for a car. Too many choices...Ahhhh.
