HOT!!! DellHome - Dell UltraSharp 3007WFP 30" Widescreen LCD Monitor for $1699 $1444 with Free Shipping!

Lowest price on the huge 30 inch widescreen LCD monitor from Dell! Dell Home doesn't charge tax in some states and shipping is free.

Sorry, but $1440 for a 30" monitor which can be gotten for half that price is not a deal.

This is different than a 30" LCD TV. A TV monitor will go up to 1920x1080 MAX (for 1080p). This is a computer monitor, and has a resolution of 2560x1600. You can't use an LCD TV as a computer monitor very well, since it's optimized for video & the aspect ratio is a little different. This is optimized as a computer display, hence the higher cost.

Regardless, to pay 7 times the amount to go from a 19" to a 30" ( alittle over 50% increase in size) is ridiculous IMO.

Yeah, you have a good point there!

Plus the fact that you need a pretty big video card even to make this thing display properly puts it in a rather narrow niche.

Well, im not going to get involved as to if this is a good value or not, but the 30" is actually more than twice as big as the 20" (the 19" isnt the same aspect ratio, so its not apples to apples).

Im not sure of the exact measurements, but figuring they are both 16:9...
the 20" is around 403 square inches, and
the 30" is around 900 square inches
Dyin' ain't much of a living, boy

I was thinking about that after I posted it, but I figured someone would catch it.
