I was happy to get the $50 for signing up, and their rates were not half bad. But I got my first bill online, and for some reason, they never processed my payment that I sent them. So the next month rolls around, balance forward from the last month, so I pay the current month, plus last months bill. And then it turns out that their crappy billing system was messed up, so I had actually already paid the previous month, but they were showing a balance forward. Got that one worked out via email.

Then they started double billing me. That is when I decided that enough is enough and decided to switch carriers. Well then they started drawing on my account when they did not have permission to do so. So I filed a complaint with the FCC. I probably would not have done that, but when I called their customer service, I waited 30 minutes before getting a voice, and she then hung up on me. So I call back, wait another 30 minutes, and the operator says, "Well what do you want me to do about it?" Umm isn't that pretty straight forward? Possibly fixing the double billing? She was not helpful at all, and also hung up on me! I guess that this is what they train their associates to do so that they can keep the money they stole from you.

Needless to say, I've gotten a letter from the president of Essential.com apologizing, but they offered nothing in return for all the troubles.

Yes some deals are too good to take advantage of! I've heard of others having the same type of problems with them.
