    I Almost Had It Tonight

I am 1/3 through an intersection (green light) and I look to the left and see a police car with his lights flashing ready to slam me in the side.

I am probably doing 40 mph. I veer to the right while going through the intersection, he veers to the left and all I can see are his headlights heading toward my side window. I stopped the car on the shoulder of the road.

He missed me by inches, stops for a second directly in front of me, turns the car around, goes over the small medial strip , makes a left and heads toward the direction which he originally was going.

I can't believe how calm I was, and yet as I walked in my front door I was shaking.

    What an experience!!

No damage at all. He didn't hit me. I give the guy credit for the way he handled his car. It could have been a real disaster.

whats even scarier is having to go through sobriety checkpoint after 3 tequila shots, a dirty martini, glass of champagne, and a vodka rebdull.

    Not even funny.

What pisses me off is when I'm driving around NOLA, and some police car decides to run a red light. Without blue flashing lights. Without siren. Just decides to run it. I've almost slammed into several oblivious cops who ignore traffic rules WITHOUT USING THEIR FREAKIN' LIGHTS! I'd love to see how that police report would look...

    Glad you're ok!

I've been through similar experiences. I agree it's amazing how calm you are throughout the event. It hits you a while later than you could have died. Six years have pased and it still gives me the creeps to think about it.
