I prepared it. Turkey, stuffing, potatoes, sweet potatoes, watergate salad, deviled eggs, cheese cake, pumkin pie.. So far it's been good.

Purple Stuff.
I'm generally not a fan of jello salads, but an aunt makes one that's a perennial favorite. Consisting of jello, blueberry pie filling, crushed pineapple, walnuts, and topped with a cream cheese mixture, it is affectionately known as "purple stuff". It's the only thing that there weren't left-overs of, thanks to my brother and me.

My wife made garlic mashed potatoes.![]()
stay low... keep moving...

My sister had us over and made everything (the spread she did took hours). Only thing I did was do a veggie tray for my sisters and one for the wife to take in with her to work tonight to share with the other nurse's and staff on her unit in the hospital. She started at 7pm tonight till 7:30am.
Took only 1/2 hour to cut up and make the 2 trays and it was no real work. So I can say I was served this Thanksgiving.

I made sweet potatoes with almonds and apples. It was ok, but it didn't have much bite (i.e. little cinnimon).
I also made Potato au Gratin with parm cheese and cream, along with bacon and some lettuce. It was actually very good, but I cut the potatoes lengthwise which threw some people off.
I had ordered a turducken. I made Garlic Mashed Potatoes too. My mom made a rice dish, veggies, ordered a Honety Baked Hame, and made bacon shrimp![]()

What's a turducken???
I have to say, for the past three Thanksgivings, allrecipes.com has been my saving grace. I found this awesome (and oh-so-easy) recipe for Herb Roasted Turkey three years ago, and it's been a favorite ever since. Last year, I introduced Roasted New Potatoes, and they were a hit. This year brought Sweet Potato Casserole--so so good!
Shrek: NO. Layers. Onions have layers. Ogres have layers. Onions have layers. You get it? We both have layers.
Donkey: Oh, you both have layers. Oh. You know, not everybody like onions.

I made the Stove-Top stuffing. My wife made everything else (turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, etc.) The stuffing was the only thing from a box, everything else my wife made from scratch. She even ground the wheat to make the fresh-baked rolls.
Guess. It's a mix of 3 animals.Originally Posted by PlayBoyWorld

We hosted for the wife's fam yesterday, am hosting mine tomorrow. 17 here for the first round, counting on 12 for the second. Yesterday was fun, tomorrow should be too.
Wife did most of the cooking. We had a ham and turkey, mashed potatoes, two types of stuffing, turnips, beets, green beans, cranberries, salad, and bread. Tomorrow's meal will probably be similar, give or take a few things.
I gave a kick-ass prayer, too. One of the highlights of the whole day.![]()
Yes. :dinner: We had our two favorite sides: A sweet potato & apple casserole and a cauliflower dish with a fabulous chicken divan sauce. Yum!
