666,338 miles on a Toyota minivan...

The The unbelievable part of this story is that the owner replaced the Toyota with a 2000 Ford Windstar...

    WTF was he thinking?

We've all heard stories about vehicles lasting a long time, but few can match the one driven by P.D. Chestnut.

If his 1987 Toyota minivan had been able to fly, it could have traveled around the world more than 25 times.

When "Trigger" finally conked out last year, the odometer on the dashboard read an amazing 666,338 miles -- on the same engine and transmission.
Toyota should give him a new one...

I'm kinda surprised that he couldn't just do an engine swap and just keep on going with it (if he loved that van that much... )

Well good maintenance and easy driving will allow for a tranny and engine to last a long time vs. hard driving and high revving.

My old 87 Accord was sold at 230K miles seven years ago. I bought it used in '94 at 120K miles.

That would never happen in my area where the roads are covered with salt for 3-4 months of the year... rust rust rust, damn, half the vehicle is gone!

Wow, over 30k a year driving. That's a lot of traveling.
