    Just chilling with fam.

    We have a big meal, and everyone gets to eat what they want. Bro-in-law is having filet mignon, father-in-law 2 T-bones. I'll be having sausage and chicken.

    Other than that, not much. Avoiding the alcohol, don't need the police headache tonight.

    Well, from this side of the date-line, Happy New Year to y'all. It's just shy of 7am, and I just got home from my friends' place.

    Midnight worship service at church, ring in the year the right way.
    Afterwards, small celebration with a few friends with good conversation.

    Got invited to a few parties and such but was in the mood for a quiet night at home alone. Brother is in town but at a party with some friends for the evening. I couldn't decide between red and white, so I've had a half bottle each of chardonnay and merlot. Got a bottle of bubbly stuff chilling in the fridge for midnight. Ate a pound and a half of crab legs and am chilling with a few movies (DaVinci Code and Archangel). Quiet night to myself after a week or two of travelling and time with family. I really do appreciate time to myself, time alone to chill and ponder everything, time where my mind can wander where it wants to rather than being occupied with keeping up with conversation and such. Time alone is my refuge. My wonderful drunken solstice.

    Though I admit it would've been nice to have had someone to kiss at midnight. I'm sure you'll get a post from me at midnight while I kiss my wine glass instead.

    Watched some fireworks on the beach...although apparently I should have been downtown. We realized that about half hour before midnight, but decided that we liked where we were at and stayed there until the buzzer hit. Then we drove downtown to watch some more fireworks.

    I hate not being able to drink.
