semi-suckage... due to her own incompetence, boss thinks i'm stupid

it's getting on my nerves. my supervisor is younger than i am (which, i suppose, actually has little to do with the problem at hand). she explains things poorly and makes assumptions about what i know about certain projects i've been assigned to.

when i ask her questions for clarification, she answers me as if i should already know what's going on. my questions are always valid, and her explanations are often vague.

so now, i'm getting the distinct impression that she's getting frustrated with me for not being able to read her mind. i think she thinks i'm dense, and this, in turn, is frustrating me.

are there any strategic ways i can point out flaws in her logic and point out to her that it's actually her fault that we've been miscommunicating? GAHHHHHHHH!!!

You should know what to do already. Figure out some way of conveying to her that your questions come from experience and should not be shrugged off with an answer that leaves more questions than answers.

it's rarely one persons fault. For instance, have you in fact told her you feel she doesn't explain things well, or at least, in a way you get? Or that she seems like she just assumes you should know something? Not saying anything is only going to make the situation worse.

    point taken.

i haven't talked to anyone else about this, so i don't know if there are others who feel the same way.

in an interesting side note, after i got home from work today, i found out they might me moving me to another department, so i may not be directly reporting to her as much any more. so that's a good thing.

    Don't worry. She already knows.
