You could pick up Lindsay Lohan for less than a intel 990x, and still have money left over to bail her outta jail

What's it cost for your car's license plates per year?

I just got the renewal for my 1998 Ford F-150 2x4 extended cab. The state of Michigan wants $76.00 or $86.00 if I renew after my birthday!

"Your truck has only 2 wheels? (I think you mean 2x4! )" hehehehe fixed ya its a 2 wheel drive!

Registration and plates for a passenger vehicle in NYS (as most things here) is more complicated than it needs to be. According to their website it could be anyting from $20.50 to $112 every 2 years, depending on weight. Then there are a few other fees. I think the last time I had mine renewed, my Jeep Cherokee came to $46 for 2 years.

I get firefighter plates so they charge a little more because a portion of the renewal goes towards some charity funds. I think I'm about $112.

Plates in Indiana are very expensive (compared to back home in Florida). The value of your plate is based on the retail value of your vehicle... also, when I moved here 14+ years ago BEFORE the Lottery kicked in the cost of license plates were DOUBLE what they are now (i.e. the lottery now pays 50% of the excise tax)

Currently the plate on my 300C is about $400 and the plate on my Ram 1500 is around $320. As the vehicles get older the plate costs go down. My '96 T-Bird plate was roughly $70 when I finally gave it to my newphew back in July 2006.

We pay over $400 for the car and over $300 for the explorer.

I am going to change my residency to IL and register the cars there over the summer.

In Maryland it is ~$150 every 2 years for my "Save the Bay" (i.e. Chesapeake Bay) plates on one of my cars and ~$125 every 2 years for my regular Md plates on my other car.

same here, not sure about everyone else but $78 is just for the lousy sticker to go on the plate, not even a new piece of metal

    Welcome to the state, chrissy!

My freshman year in college, I had mandatory ROTC. Our instructor was a major (really interesting guy) who said he had a choice of any state to declare his residency, so he chose Kentucky - because the vehicle registration was lowest there.
