    How "Green" is your car?

    http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/findacar.htm

Pretty interesting site that lets you calculate your annual fuel costs, consumption of barrels of gas per year, ecological footprint, etc.

    Enjoy!

On their environmental scale of 2.9-14.9, came in 7.6. Meh, not too bad. Crash test ratings weren't bad, either...

Any idea if this site uses the new MPG ratings?
It only ends once... Anything that happens before that is just progress.

    14.9 bbl/year

Pollution score of 2 based on the first map.

    8 tons GHG/year.

Personally, I doubt those results, though they might make sense for me. The EPA stats lowball my mileage and miles driven. I get closer to 32-34 on the highway at 80 or so. And I drive a lot, so that probably compensates for that. So I know, at least, when I'm on the interstate, I'm doing as well as a lot of hybrids. When I'm in the city, I'm having more fun while arguably being a helluva lot safer. It's a tradeoff.

Plus I keep my car immaculately , am always looking for ways to boost power or increase efficiency (thinking that boosting power will make me use less gas as often to get up to speeds I like,) etc. A quick blast to 40 with a SC in 2nd or 3rd get will keep the revs and total gas less than a run from first. The cool thing is my variably clutched AC, so when it's not needed as much, it doesn't load the engine as much. Those Germans take a lot into account. Otherwise my car would be a pollutin' emmeffer.

Now my old 92 Camaro V6 probably polluted like a monster. Except for the AC system. Retrofitted that to harmless R134 years ago.

The main site currently does not. According to the FAQs the new calculation method only applies to '08s and on.

I did manage to find a comparison calculator that shows your vehicles "new" MPG using this new calculation method.
