    Columbus, Oh

Finally TofuNinja has come back to Columbus!!!

Well I am currently sitting in the Port Columbus Airport waiting for Enterprise Rent a car to open. I have like more hour to go. Flight got in at 6am. Got our baggage, ate breakfast, got a one dollar 4 minute first class chair massage. All in all not bad. Plus the airport here has free internet. Fun huh.

Well off to play DS. I'll check in later... looking for some sushi bars in the area, anyone know of any good ones?

Nice so 9am finally rolls around. Spent most of the time playing custom robo arena. Not bad really. Got to Enterprise and got my car, they were going to give me a FOrd Focus, but since it wasn't on lot that upgraded me for free to a PT Cruiser. Not a bad car. With my corporate rate I got a pretty good deal and we even bought the gas as it was only 2 bucks a gal, in Cal it is over three so that is cool. Currently at my future inlaw's place. I was going to log on to their network but no need, someone in this area has an open connection to their high speed wi fi. I guess if I feel bad I'll switch to the private network here.

oh and just like BigJon and my Wii told me, it is a bit rainy here. Fun!! Driving a PT Cruiser in the rain. woot woot

Well, I don't know, Kansas have their steaks and what not, I thought that maybe Ohio was famous for something. I mean the last time I was here I had White Castles.... I am sure White Castle is not representative of Ohio based food

sorry. i'm from indiana and i assume it's the same in ohio. nothing spectacular about the food.

although cincinnati is known for their special blend of chili. you can likely get "cincinnati" chili in columbus.

if you really want to have some fun in columbus, go get yourself a florida jersey and walk around thumping your chest.

Or, you have to ask the right person, who has them secretly tucked away beneath the counter, and will sell them only if you 1) sign a waiver indemnifying the seller against any damages or injuries that may occur as a result of owning, wearing, or displaying said merchandise, 2) promising not to take it out of the (plain brown wrapper) bag until you have left the seller's premises, and 3) promise not to reveal to anyone the location that you bought it.

As for food...yeah...we don't really have anything here special that no one else has. Just hit up Polaris mall and you're set for your amazing adventures of Columbus.

Oh I am sure I can find one. I thought about making an Ohio State "We're Number 2" Jersey or shirt and walking around I am such a poser though, when my inlaws moved here, my future father inlaw doesn't speak much English, so I bought him an Ohio State hat and told him to wear it and greet people with "Go Buckeyes!" Or atleast just wear it. So I am in town with my poser Ohio State hat lol. Next time I'll wear my trusty dodger hat.

Polaris mall. ok I'll look that up the only place I really have been to is the shops in the Easton Market / Morse Crossing area. For example, my future inlaws took us to their Sunday usual.... Sam's Club for Pizza... perhaps it doesn't get more Ohio than that, who knows. I read about this Sushi place Ontaki's or something online.... but not sure is Ohio Sushi would be good or comparable to California. Even though i was happy to see that your CompUSA has more in stock than ours in So Cal. Some games that sold out for the Wii are still at yours, happoy days.

Oooh, the Otani. I forgot about that place. It's a sushi/karaoke bar. Never been there...but I was invited to go once. It's about 5 minutes from my work.

Polaris is the more "yuppie mall" but in my opinion it's much better than Easton. Easton is cool and all..but it seems like either all restaruants or clothing stores. Polaris mall is your typical huge mall with tons of litte shops and whatnot.

Man there was a sushi place in Columbus that had an Ohio State Roll with Mayo in it... mayo? hmmmm and deep fried something.

I wonder if I can find the White Castle Roll haha I kid. Polaris, is that far where I am currently? I am near... well I am on E. Broad right now

Somewhat...take 270 to 71 North, then get off at the Polaris exit. You can't miss it...it's the HUGE building across the street from the HUGE strip mall. Definately a fun place to spend the afternoon. We usually like to take the kids there and spend a Saturday afternoon walking the mall and window shopping. If you go, stop by the Brookstone store and sit in one of those nice massage chairs...much better quality than the pay massage chairs that they have sitting around the mall.

That'd be cool, maybe we can hit up the Otani next time you're in town. I've tried some "fake sushi" and it wasn't too bad.

When I was in Columbus, there were some neat restaurants near the Nationwide Arena (where the Bluejackets pretend to play.)

Lai Lai on E Broad is not too bad. It's pretty damn yummy actually. Not as good as some of the places we have in SO Cal. But pretty damn good if you ask me. They were super friendly and gave us free almond cookies that it appears he makes himself. A good pre game meal as we will now watch the Championship game.

OK so I am back in Cali Back home. This trip was ok. Didn't do much but then again this trip was to check up on my future inlaws and help them take care of some business. Helped them with their taxes (almost done), got them car insurance, took care of some bank issues for them. Got them a Kroger's plus card, should get them a Giant Eagle's card too but no time.

Next time I need to meet up with mommypooh and BigJon and check out the Polaris mall
