    Joe Torre to Manage Dodgers?

At this moment, it seems to be a major rumor with plausability. Perhaps more confirmation will come by the time more people read this. I wonder if they may also try to get A-Rod and become the Yankees West since Yankees East seems to be starting to close down- ending their baseball dominance. Boston seems to be the New Yankees now. They have even polished their image more since their last World Series championship with the grungy guys with beards and long hair.

This is pretty funny because they also wanted Girardi but will settle for Torre. I wonder how much they end up paying Torre.

In the end the Yankees actually look like they made a savvy move if they in fact didn't want Torre to come back. They end up with a quality manager, who is questionably better than Torre, and pay him over three years what they would have paid Torre in one year.
It only ends once... Anything that happens before that is just progress.

15 million for 3 years and I don't know if it will help us, but there could be much worse scenarios.

What a disappointing year in baseball.
    Well, now for bball.

I find it funny that the Yankees were called out as classless for how they handled the Joe Torre situation but now Torre is negotiating with the Dodgers who still have a manager under contract and there isn't any name-calling of Torre or the Dodgers.

Torre is going to find out really quickly how tough it is to manage when you don't have the caliber of players the Yankees put on the field every year.

I think that is more a consequence of different players than any group decision on their image. Kevin Millar and Johnny Damon inspired a lot of that "grungy guy" look, which the rest of the guys took up as a team bonding kinda thing. That's the kind of leadership Millar provided. With those two gone, and other veteran types like Varitek, Lowell, Schilling, and Ortiz leading the team, its a very different clubhouse vibe. Neither better nor worse, just more in line with the existing personalities and leadership styles.
