for those who don't know, i work for DHL. and on behalf of all my cow-orkers across the world, and(as much as it pains me) my brothern at FedEx and UPS and the USPS, stop ordering stuff online until after xmas. i'm headed for another 70/hr WEEK, yes WEEK, because of how much we have coming from Dell and other online retailers and i don't even have the energy to cook when i come home. hell, i'm so tired, that if i don't have a few drinks, i can't sleep. just hold off, or next year remember this, and order yyour stuff any months but nov and dec. i have a 7 sq mile radius, and its not even downtown, i've got only half of a town, and i'm gonig to over 100 places a day to deliver packages.
oh yeah, and if you order something and want it there by 1030 or noon, and aren't home, you can officially blow me. there's no easier way to piss off your delivery driver than to order something for before noon and NOT BE HOME to receive it, especially if its a dell or a phone from asurian, they both ALWAYS require an in person signature, and we alllll get very pissed when we have to goto the same house the next day because you weren't home...have it delivered toyour work, or let it come ground AND LEAVE A DAMN NOTE for when you'll be home, and we'll try to get there.
hey, i understand, i know its almost impossible to stay home all day, but if you order a package you even THINK is going to need a signature, call your local DHL, FedEx or UPS office and inform them of the tracking number and you address and when you'll be home for signage. trust me, you'll get less **** beat up and broken. after 2 days in a van going around turns, brake, acceleration, with 200 other packages in a confinded space, you'll appreciate us.....and oh yeah, if your driver is non-union, he's making any where from 9.50-12/hr with OT paid straight time, don't be afraid to tip.
*pant* *pant* thank you rant over
