Thread: HELP!!!! VCOMM is screwing my SOYO.

I just installed a SOYO 6BA+100 Motherboard with a Pentium III 800/100 processor. Everything seemed fine until I installed the onboard ATA 100 controller and rebooted.

I got the famous windows blue screen stating that "Windows device initialization VCOMM" Windows must restart.

This occurs directly after the VMI data pool initialization.

I am a newbie to building my own system and have no idea what to do. Please respond to this if you have any idea how to help.

    THANKS IN ADVANCE.

    A few questions:

Did it work OK for awhile until you installed the controller, or were you in the middle of a fresh install?
Can you boot in "safe mode"?
    What Windows are you running?

Shall we buy a new guitar?
Shall we drive a more powerful car?
