Five Dollars is the largest referral promotion netspend.com has, if you see any others for larger ammounts they are false and just trying to get you to use their code.

I just checked the website for netspend and it still says $5 on the page where you signup. However, my account shows that there's currently a $20 bonus. Here are the details from the Netspend website.

Each referred cardholder must activate the card and then load a minimum of $40.00 onto the card in order for each cardholder to be awarded the $20.00. No referral reward will be awarded to either party if the referred individual is currently or ever was a NetSpend cardholder.
