    PS3 + MGS4 Bundle Question

    http://www.amazon.com/Playstation-Me...2129896&sr=8-1

So the PS3+MGS4 bundle will be released on the same date as the actual game, which is June 12. I was looking for a good Blue-Ray player, I'm a casual gamer, and I really enjoyed the first two Metal Gear Solid games, so the PS3+MGS4 bundle seemed like a natural choice at this point. The only problem is that I haven't bought a gaming console since the Sega Saturn which was about 12 years ago, and I'm not familiar with the art of getting my hands on a high-demand consoles on release day. Any tips? What are my best bets? Should I try to preorder? Will I want to stand outside some store overnight? For those with experience, what should I expect to do if I want it ASAP?

    Thanks.
    Stan

Okay, amazon had the pre-order for the bundle this morning and I managed to get it in my cart but it sold out before I could buy it. note to self: turn on "one-click purchasing" next time. haha.

Crazy! Amazon was down for about two hours today. I think it had something to do with this preorder. I don't get how Amazon could have so much technical problems due to high volume generated from one product.

Is the bundle cheaper than purchasing the game and console separately or is something else included in the bundle? PS3's have been available for a long while pretty much everywhere. If you can't get the bundle, just go buy a console and pickup the game separately tomorrow.
It only ends once... Anything that happens before that is just progress.

Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.

Right now, I think they're only selling the 40GB version. Tomorrow, when the bundle is released, the new 80GB version comes out. So you wouldn't be able to buy JUST the 80GB version right now and also buy the game. Besides, I think if you could buy the console by itself, it would be the same price ($499).

and it comes with the new dual shock 3 controller included so it's actually really cheap to buy the bundle. over $100 off the price of buying everything separately.

And from what I hear the PS3 is getting "Worthwhile to buy" finally. I figured they might come around after a couple years. I hear this has humbled Sony a bit as well. I wish I had a job right now, I'd get the 360 and the PS3.. oh well. Right now I have to play with my Wii.

They had one at walmart I think they were even offering the $100 Gift Card that was supposedly only for the 40 gb version, but I didn't clarify since I already had a PS3. Picked up MGS4 though. Haven't played it yet.
