    LaRussa needs a reality check

I'm so sick of seeing him in press conferences blaming bullpen losses on lack of offense. Here goes another game. Franklin, who's an overall good setup man, is a terrible closer and gives up too many HRs when the game is tight.

I'd be knocking around the pitching staff (including almighty Dave Duncan) for their inability to turn this problem around.

Blame the starters for not going deep enough. Blame Izzy for not getting his head straight. But how dare anyone blame the offense when the bullpen has the most blown saves in the NL, and can't ever hold a 1 run lead for longer than 2 or 3 innings.

    Agh!

I think the ship has sailed on blaming the bullpen. Izzy completely fell apart and left the bullpen in a lurch. The entire team knows the bullpen is not a strong suit so they need to put up more offense and have better starting pitching to cover up the weakness.

They just need a bit more wiggle room at the end of each game to ensure victory.
It only ends once... Anything that happens before that is just progress.

Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.
