Does anyone know of a program that will record a VCD that works on a consumer DVD player? A VCD recorded using Easy CD Creator isn't working for me.
thanks!

Nero 5 also has a VCD program.
I'm sure you just didn't set the settings correctly.

My friend told me that the VCD isn't working because of an anti-piracy feature on my DVD player. Is this correct? Nero 5 can get around this?
I've never heard of any such piracy protection, i think you just haven't used the correct settings. Are you sure your DVD player supports VCD's?

Those anti-piracy crap (CSS) for DVD has to be written onto the discs. You've to pay royalties to use it I believe... and if your software has that feature, you can bet that it'll be advertised to heck and back.Originally posted by giambona

So in short, no.

I read on another site that some CD-R discs don't work in DVD players, so I used a CD-RW and it worked!

it depends on the player more than anything. Most first and second generation players can't handle CDR or RW. Some current ones can. All the Pioneers can, some toshibias and higher end sonys, etc. Some only read cdr, not RW, or visa versa. Most should be able to read VCD's on native formats.

funny thing is my damn DVD player supports both CDR's and CDRW's but it doesn't support VCD's
