ahhh, that was a pain in the ass. My disk drive wasn't working, and the drivers for my network card came on disks...

anyway, so far so good. Before upgrading i asked one of my friends if he liked it and he said it was great but his video card crashed all the time (Voodoo 3500tv) and seeing how i recomended the card to him (i have the same card) i thought i might have some problems. I've only been up for less than 10 min and so far i haven't had any problems, of coarse i haven't tried anything yet.

    You will not regret

    The Upgrade...
Just Do Not Turn off during the Saving settings part... It will require my expertise. It deletes the boot.ini and thats not good...

Stability and scalabilty are its true benifits.

it wouldn't have taken such a long time but believe it or not, I too had NIC problems. I have a Linksys Network Everywhere 10/100 NIC and Win2k didn't have drivers for it. The drivers that came with it came on a disk, and since I dont use a disk drive (unplugged, no use for it...usually) I had no way of getting them off the disk, and i couldn't get the drivers off the net cause i couldn't use the NIC!! Intresting problem
So I just dragged my hard drive on to my dads computer and copied drivers that i got off the net to the drive.

I have that NIC also. I used win2k's drivers. They were named something else though. It started with an "MS" followed by the real driver name, so i just renamed the driver. Wierd huh?

That is wierd, i'm surprised it worked. At first i remembered having another brand NIC and when i tried to install the drivers win would restart on me.

    About time

About time hapoo. Win2K is one Microsoft product that I really can't bitch about. It's got security, stability and scalability. True it isn't perfect, but compared to Win 9x it's a world better.
