win98 installation help

this is what's going on...
i formatted my computer (not this one) through the win98 setup cd. then it tells me it'll automatically restart...everything so far goes well.

*after restarting, computer asks me if i want to boot into hard drive or cd...of course i say cd cuz there's no more OS to boot into anyway. =P blue screen comes on, with the headline "microsoft windows 98 setup." i keep on pressing enter at all those "continue with setup" questions...then it says it'll perform a routine check on my comp. i press enter...then it says remove all floppies and press any key to restart comp. once i do that, it loops back to where i have that * up above...so basically i'm stuck in a circle. does anyone have any idea how i can break out of it and actually install the stupid thing?

btw, this isn't win98se

oh yea...i tried to look at some troubleshooting guides online...some guides say that if there is an antivirus program running it might screw up the installation process exactly at that point. how would i disable the antivirus program then if that's the case?

win2k, only thing i can think of is install on diff drive/comp and copy partition.

I want to make sure you wrote the situation out correctly.

the system asks if you want to boot from CD or from HD and you keep choosing CD?

From the astrik, that would be what is wrong.

What happens when you go back into your bios and change the boot sequence back to the HD? Does it attempt to load at that point?

I agree with crabbie. Your BIOS boot sequence is OK, win98 cd is bootable and will ask to boot from cd or hdd. Boot from hard drive, setup should continue just fine.
