Pic of The Day: Fire Cannons!

This weekend was the Festival of Sail downtown with lots of tall ships (and some other ships) in town for the festivities. A copy of the HMS Bounty was there (one of five- this one was used in the Marlon Brando version of "Mutiny on the Bounty") and part of the events included mock cannon battles. Here a cannon on the pier where the Bounty was moored fires on a couple of ships passing by. The haze is from cannon smoke.

I add new pictures to my photo gallery pretty regularly. You can see them here if you are interested: http://www.pbase.com/jeffryz

Sounds like that was a cool event. Wish I could have been there. I loved the Bounty.

I built my first model of that ship when I was about 12.

Somehow I got invited to a party on a boat there in the bay. It was a great time, although I think people like me ruined the party for the real sailboats, as boats like ours seemed to congest the bay a bit. Either way, it was an awesome day in SD.

Oh yeah, great pic Zippy! Maybe a little photoshop to enhance the background it a bit.
