Please recommend a domain registrar and a host.

Hi folks, I hope this is the right place to post. I am new here, and all that stuff.

I am finally going to register my own domain and build my own website and get with the times.

What domain registrars do you like, what ones to avoid?

What hosts do you like. I would like to be able to make asp.net and ajax sites, and i am going to teach myself flash so i guess that would be nice too. I generally like/tolerate microsoft stuff -- I have a valid reason to use microsoft, I am most familiar with their technologies, for better or worse.

Anyways, if this is the wrong place, hey, tell me where to put it. I'm new to all this, please go gentle.
