Got a Xbox 360

My wife traded in her Dave and Busters tickets for the Xbox 360. Confirmed it's the Jasper chipset that has the built in memory. Played my brothers copy of Gears of War 2 and it never crashed. We're pretty horrible at it. It takes 40K tickets to get the Xbox 360 and there's this one ticket machine which spits out about 10K tickets for $50 worth of credits and it dispenses 200 tickets a minute. It's like buying it full price without tax. Cheaper if you get it from Dell however. The one with HD is 97K tickets and not worth it if you do it through the D&B way.

The Wii is great but the lack of games makes it hard for me to justify all the money I put into it and continue to do so. I think I've spent about $600 plus and I only enjoy playing GH and Wii sports really. I think a Gears of War on Xbox 360 would be great but prob nothing like that would be on the Wii. Oh well.

Yeah no kidding on the RRoD. It'll take you about 3 hours to wait for the tickets to dispense if you do get 40K tickets. However it's half off games on Wednesdays. So theoretically you could get it for about $100 worth of credits and 3+ hours of your time. The ticket machine is this spinning wheel with alternating black and red spots. 50 tickets for landing on black and Jackpot on red. You get 10 discs per swipe. There's a white space between each black and red spot worth of course nothing. I've seen my wife hit the jackpot twice in one swipe with two discs for full jackpot amount before resetting to 150 tickets after the round is over. Each swipe I think is 7 credits.

I have spent many hours wasting time on XBOX Live. I agree that it is better overall than the Wii.

I thought you get 1 month of Xbox Gold free. Is it a code in the box or something? I can't find it. I created an avatar and an account on the Xbox but finished creating the account online. It's weird.

M$ cut that month down to two days. You get a 48 hour pass when you buy games now.

I called MS and they said they cut it out a month ago yet my brother got a full month only 2-3 weeks ago without a problem. They said I had create a new gamertag if I wanted to see Gold membership. Really it's not worth the effort since I just have GoW2. Maybe when I get SF:IV I'll be more inclined to go online.
