    Monitor recommendation?

I need a monitor for a specialized installation. This will be part of a marketing display that will be playing a video all day (think "Trade Show".)

The monitor needs to have the following specs:

    - HDMI in
    - 22" to 24"
    - Wide viewable angles (may even be mounted vertically.)
    - Bright and sharp
    - Native 1080p resolution (1920x1080)
    - built in speakers would be nice, but not a deal killer.

Basically, I need a monitor that can be viewed from a wide angle. All the monitors I've tried are pretty much built to be watched straight-on.

maybe you should consider a cheap LCD TV with HDMI input for the display?

It's 28" inches though and 160° degree viewing angle. Has everything else I think you want.

That Dell has the specs I like (especially the 178° viewing angle) but it's not native 1080p. I'll look and see if there may be a similar UltraSharp model...

I've found LCD TVs that meet my expectations as far as quality and viewing angle, but not in a 22" to 24" size. They're all 37" on up. It's almost as if the manufacturers think anyone that wants a smaller LCD tv is looking for cheap and crappy.

Expensive, but worth every penny. Best monitor made, IMHO.

I can't believe it. After an hour of watching a movie, the right half of the screen turned blank and showed pink and purple lines. Only half of the movie can be seen. It is defective.
