what do you like?
NY style or Chicago style.
I know there's a bunch of other styles, but these two are most universally recognized.
NY Style
Chicago Style
Neither. my style that I will write below.
If by "Chicago Style" you mean deep dish stuffed, by all means! But if you haven't had it in the Chicago area, you probably haven't had it.

I just like pizza period... with plenty of meats and fresh veggies. (No fish or fruit though...)

The pizza I used to get growing up around Springfield MA beats both. Its like a combination of the two styles, a large, rectangular pie like Sicilian, but with a thin flat crust like classic NY style. Then piled with toppings like Chicago style. When its real good, the toppings soak into and soften the thin crust to the point you need to fork and knife it.
Common sense is what tells you the Earth is flat.
To me, deep dish/stuffed pizza is best when you eat it at the restaurant - when they bring it out, the cheese just stretches out, but the crust is nice and crispy - that's the best!Originally Posted by zenbooty

Zachary's in Oaklnd....

I always thought they were overrated. Pizza in California sucked in general. Though it was better than pizza down south.Originally Posted by ramazank2

I get 3 kinds of hell in St. Louis when I say I don't like the "St. Louis style" pizza. It's toppings on a cracker. I just don't like thin crusts in general.

St. Louis style pizza is great, if you remember you're not eating a pizza.

I like Chicago's second most famous style - flat pizza. It's very thin with a noticeable crunch to the bottom of the crust, yet a soft top of the crust. It has a liberal amount of tomato sauce, and usually zero, one or maybe two meat toppings. Of course it's Chicago-cut (squares, not wedges.)
I've never found a national chain that does it well, but in my hometown there were two pizza joints within a block of each other - Steve's Pizza and George's Pizza that did an awesome job.
Chicago deep-dish is ok, but when I want pizza, I want pizza; when I want casserole, I'll ask my mom to make tatertot hotdish.
I think I prefer a good Sicilian the best, however, I love pizza, so I am easy to please in the pizza dept. It is hard to find a really good Sicilian Pizza! I also prefer pizzas that are cooked in a wood fired oven.
