as many of you know.. pointclick just dissapeared off the map a couple of months ago...

leaving a BUNCH of us without our reimburstments...

well.. I just got a letter today with 2 attachments...

one is a document stating that Pointclick (netpartner) was sold to sherwood something or another.. and that anything they needed to be paid out would be done so through this sherwood thing..

the other attachemnt was a form I need to fill out to file this claim...

the LAST DAY to file is june 18,2001
the ONLY problem is that they was PROOF... i don't know what I am going to provide ... all I have are some emails I sent to them complaining about my account.. and an approval to be paid..

i hope that is proof enough...

if anyone who needed to get oney from pointlick.. didn't recieve this mail.. i will be happy to upload somewhere and paste a link here...

    Hey stupidzbu,
I was owed money by pointclick and have changed my email address since they vanished, so I did not receive the email. Maybe you could forward that to me?

    Thanks in advance!!!!

Hey eolivr, I forwarded the docs to you. And Gadget (I won't dignify the first part of your handle): This was not a stupid thread, stupid.

If they are sending out emails they must have obtained the records from Net partner. How is it they can still demand proof? I'll still try to gather it though.

I too have changed my email since then, and it would be great is someone could send message to me also.

    [email protected]

    Thanks

    Particle,
I forwarded the docs to you.

I'm surprised at the lack of responses or comments on this thread.

I would greatly appreciate any info/docs on reimbursement from Pointclick as well. They owe me $200!

    Thanks,

I got these, clicked on one and ZoneAlarm came up and blocked an unauthorized outgoing transmission. Deleted immediately.

I am no technoid, and this may not be a 100% correct description. ZoneAlarm is a firewall type product that excels at monitoring your various ports for outgoing transmissions that you do not initiate. It is free for individual users. As best I can tell, it causes no instability problems unlike some other firewall products, such as Blackice in my experience. If something is attempting to transmit something to the net that you did not authorize, it asks you for permission. I recommend highly particularly if you have a cable modem or dsl which is always on. I have a cable modem and "I wouldn't leave home without it".

no need for that then.. i have a router with a firewall.. but I intentionally put my IP as a DMZ.. which removes the firewall to transmit stuff through AOL.. ICQ... telnet... and run a server.........

anyways... what can they possibly get that would be of any importance from me??????

I use a router too. They are great, but I doubt it gives you any protection against this kind of stuff because you let them past the firewall when you opened the attachment.

I have no idea what they wanted, or what might be on a hard disk that you or I wouldn't necessarily want to share with them. They know. And they didn't want to ask us to turn it over voluntarily to them. They tried to sneak it out without our consent. That's all I need to know. Pointclick sucked bad and I doubt anyone with either common sense or integrity would associate themselves with it at this point.
