my poor cat chili passed away

seeing your loving pet pass away is a hard thing to do. I'm so sad my kitty is gone, but i'm glad he's not suffering anymore.

Sorry to hear. I lost my 1st cat 8 years ago, and have 2 more now. You're right...so hard to go through. Do you plan to get another one?

    Chili was 16 years old.

He was suffering because he couldn't keep anything down. All his food would go straight through him. He was getting skinnier and skinnier and weaker and weaker everyday. We would bring him to the vet to see what was wrong, and the vet would give him prenisone (sp?) to help his stomach out. He also had nose cancer.

Yesterday morning, he just lay on the floor. he couldn't move, he was so weak. I tried standing him up, but he would buckle and just fall to the ground. It was time for him to go. We brought him to the vet, and we put him to sleep. Chili was my first pet that i've put to sleep, and it was hard being in the same room, holding Chili's head, as the vet put the euthanasia drugs into him. Seeing him take his last breath was one of the hardest things for me experience. Pets are definitely like family, and chili was a great cat with such a unique personality. Chili was loved, and I'm sure chili knew that before he passed.

You're right about pets being a part of the family, and losing them is hard to take. You definitely did what was best for your cat.
