I don't participate in Lent practices, but I might stop by Culvers to try their Walleye - I've heard it's very good.
stay low... keep moving...
I follow the rules for Lent. I had some tuna salad on Friday.
Walleye... soooo good. I've done a lot of walleye fishing and eating in my days.Originally Posted by Markel

Although I don't observe Lent in my religion... I still appreciate all of the "fish value specials" during the February - March timeframe.
I'm so addicted to fish sandwiches... and right now, they're on sale everywhere. (Must be the creamy tartar sauce...)

I think I was the only kid in catholic school who had salami sandwiches on fridays
Am I alone here? Is that it?
Am I the only one who sees.
Maybe we can learn to be just like him.

Yes, sir.
No, sir.
Thank you, sir.
lmao!
I would think so if you were at a Catholic school. I always had PB&J on Fridays during lent when I was in school. i only went to a Catholic school for a few years but even in public school I still didn't eat meat on Fridays during Lent.
On a side note: DF is probably loving the $.99 promo on the McD's Filet O' Fish sand.
i need to get my butt to red lobster for lobster fest.
Mmmmmm lobster!

Lobster and crab are not on the menu if you observe the "kosher" diet... per one of my Jewish friends. Those guys are "bottom feeders" so they're off the list.

I was just wondering the same thing.
Personally, I don't eat lobster, crabcakes, or sushi on Fridays during Lent b/c I love all three. There are no rules against it but I feel it defeats the essence of Lent. I try not to eat any of my favorites but since I love food it is difficult.Originally Posted by attgig
Nothing... I just tossed that in because I recently had a conversation with that friend about eating "fish" and he commented that shellfish weren't allowed.Originally Posted by cheapie

I like fish but I don't buy into the Lent rules - that's one of those things that's been changed so many times that it's lost its meaning. So fish if I can get something good, otherwise I'll go for a nice cheeseburger.
