    McRib!!

I like it. It taste different somehow maybe because of how long it's been between now and the last time it came out.

    yeah
I like it but in the end...
the texture of the meat is just not natural.

I love the sauce, but in the ends, it's just sweet bbq sauce...

    everything about it sucks...but...

WHY DO I LIKE IT SO MUCH?!?!?

Never had one, and don't think I'll ever have the cojones to try one. They scare me.

Last time it was out mine came with pickles on it. Is that still the case? Not that it tasted bad...it was just a weird combo of pickles and BBQ sauce that seemed odd.

I just had one for lunch. It comes with two pickles. If you want me to double check, I can go out and get another one. Mmm...yes, seconds.

I think the last time I had a McRib was the year that they first appeared.

    Funny..

I always eat Pulled Pork BBQ sandwiches with pickles... such a good flavor!

Eating a McRib isn't really much different than that... except for the "pulled" part. More like ground pork burger (as it no longer has the preformed "ribs" like the original did).

had another one today. extra pickles. yummm!!!!

btw, i couldn't sleep last night in my hotel. got up after midnight and thought, "I NEED A MCRIB!" followed the GPS to a McD's...closed. found another McD's...closed. found another one and saw the light beckoning me to come hither like the grail on the top of the nunnery/monastery in the monty python movie.

pull up, order a McRib and get told, "sorry, we're only serving from our late night menu."

    aaaaahhhhh!!!!!!!

Van DAYUUUM!!! That was just mean of them not to hit you off with a yummy pork patty.

At $4 for the combo meal, the McRib is a TASTY welcome treat. (add a side $.99 "McDouble" and you walk out full and content...)

    They don't come pre-formed in a rib mold anymore? That's a bummer.

Nope.. it's just ground up pork patty now.

I had read somewhere that forming it to look like a "rib" made it too expensive to make a decent profit on.

Honestly, I don't understand why the "new" McRib is not a regular menu item considering how popular it is. Just like the Filet-O-Fish.. it's just an alternate staple of the brand.

I think they're pretty smart to keep it like it is... if it were a regular menu item, I think it would slowly slide to the bottom of the popular menu items until it became too expensive to carry anymore. But by offering it randomly & only for a limited time, it causes a rush on it & they probably sell an entire year's worth in the month or 2 that it's available. Kind of like the shamrock shakes.

Truly I understand where you are coming from...

However, with the change in the patty (since it probably is cheaper to make it now) and the somewhat steady demand, I honestly think that it could survive on the permanent menu.

Pork sandwiches are pretty common around the Midwest (you can just about throw a stick and hit a stand selling tenderloins everywhere around here. ) BBQ pork sandwiches... well... that's something quite special as you usually can only get something like that from a "rib shack" around here.

And as far as McD's goes... they still have their "Chipotle Chicken" sandwiches and wraps, but they still don't quite measure up to the flavor of the magnificent McRib.

Seriously, McD's should consider keeping it around on a test basis for at least 6 months to see how it does.

Ah... No McRibs here in Korea... I'll have to satisfy myself with cooking a real steak instead.
