OK, here's the scoop on a problem that's been baffling me for months.

On my home LAN, I have a computer running Windows Me and one that's running Windows 2000 Pro. Trouble is, the Win2k box can access the files stored on my Windows Me computer, but not vice-versa.

On the Windows Me machine, I receive an "Access Denied" error when attempting to access files on the Windows 2000 box. In Win2k, the files are shared so that "Everyone" has full control (I know, NOT secure, but I do have a hardware firewall in place for now).

Because its set to "Everyone has full control" it doesn't work. In order to access the resources on the win2k machine you need to setup an account under the "Users and Passwords" section in the Control Panel.
Make sure the "Users must enter a user name..." is checked. Then click the Add button and create an account, under user name choose the name of the computer you want to give access too. You can then set the privilages.

Hmm, guess this means that I can't have Windows 2000 log me in automatically in that case.

I'll still try this out tomorrow... thanx.
