Does anyone know how to separate the sound from an mpeg file?

I have this little simpsons clip that i took off the air and i just want the audio from it. Its in mpeg 1 format.

use virtural dub it works really really well
all u do is just open up the mpeg file, mark the starting and end points and save the wav file...

after that u can do whatever u want with wav file... convert it to mp3 or rm or anything like that
