    Decorating/Furnishing Living room

I took a look at my livingroom and.. well I hate it.

I started to order furniture to replace the bulk of everything in there when I realized that I have no idea what works fashion wise.

Essentially everything is going in the garbage so I have a clean slate for a livingroom. I am keeping two items.

    1) My Entertainment Center (newely bought, looks fantastic)

    2) My Concept Rug

I have a decent sized living room so size in furniture isn't much of an issue. By my count I believe I need the following:

    1) Sofa/Loveseat or Leftside Sectional
    2) Coffee Table
    3) Lamps
    4) Possibly End Tables
    5) Possibly a bookend.
    6) pictures and excess stuff like that.

Now I think I have to have the rest of my stuff match in some way shape or form, the rug and entertainment center (My TV is wall mounted). The walls are typical beige color (default color for most apartments).

So I need some opinion for color schemes, and possible theme/design ideas.

Ah, I love Overstock for furniture. $3 shipping for an entertainment center? That seems reasonable!

I assume you have hardwood floors? What color are they? And what are the actual dimensions of the room?

So it looks like you want to have a modern look....and in that case Ikea is your friend.

also look at the photos of furniture you buy to get an idea of a color for the walls
