I was using win2k and loving it until the KB port on my mobo went Tango Uniform. Anyway, I bought a USB KB and pluged it in...Win2k crashed repeatedly-telling me that "IRQ is not less than or equal to......."
I diagnosed it to be a conflict between the keyboard and my scanner. When one if plugged in, fine. When they both are, not fine.
They seem to work fine in win98.
Ideas?

hmm...
lots of things to try-thanks for the ideas. The issue is definately software based. I'm going to try futzing around with the PCI's IRQs (havent had to do that in years!)
The keyboard is Mitsumi and has no drivers available. The Scanner is Vivid and I'm using the current drivers. The mobo no longer has a workign ps/2 kb port.
I'm not wild about the KB, but I don't so much have $45 for a better USB KB.
...perhaps win2k gets the shaft... (wimper)
