I may have a failing router. I have a Linksys WRT54G and it is at least 5 years old. It could be good old RoadRunner denying a problem, but the drops I'm having are random, and I show a connection until I disconnect the router and then when it is plugged back in I get a good signal again. I maybe jumping the gun, and Monday I plan on running direct from the Modem to see if I have the same problem, but guessing I maybe due for a new router anyway.
Any thoughts on a good current router? I prefer hardwire and wireless capability. I use 3 of the hard wire ports everyday, and prefer it for security for what I do, even though the likelihood of someone tapping into my work via wireless is remote, I am a paranoid person. The wireless is for my wife and kids on their laptops, and my Dell Streak that I got with a GotApex deal.
Thanks for any ideas!
Off on a roadtrip to look at Golden Retriever puppies, but will check in as soon as I get back. Yea Kind of psyched for a new pooch, like I need anything else draining money. )
