Woot!! I got a new job last week and am pretty darned excited about it. I am doing about 50 different things for a small company in town including admin, bookkeeping, marketing, and sales.
What we are doing is deconstructing a 123 yr old grain elevator consisting of three quite large buildings. We are salvaging most of the wood which is some beautiful old growth white pine, some white oak, and a very large supply of wrought iron. The reclaimed lumber business is kinda starting to get hot, so hopefully this will be taking off really soon. We have about 6,000,000 board feet of the white pine and about 700,000 lbs of the wrought iron on site. The wrought iron is very cool becasue of interest by blacksmiths. It is not produced anymore, and not really available in any quanity in any one place. We are also taking out sections of the buildings where the grain has been pouring against the sides of the elevator for 100 years and eroding the wood away, leaving behind so interesting, and very unique patterns. Very cool stuff!!!!
