    3M Headlight Restoration Kit

The front headlight lenses on our 1999 Town & Country were getting *really* blocked -- yellowed, frosted, etc. I decided to pick up a 3M headlight restoration kit and give it a try. WOW -- it REALLY does the job. I wish I had taken before & after pictures. They are incredibly clear now. Afterward I decided to take the kit to my 2001 Toyota Corolla (they weren't nearly as bad), and they look sooo much nicer now, too. I'm quite satisfied with what I got for my $16.

Well that's an impressive endorsement. What's it do, recondition the plastic or something? Can't say I've heard of this before. I mean, I'm aware of headlights getting yellow and foggy etc, I just didn't know it could be fixed.

I did that to my VW, but it only lasted a few months
Am I alone here? Is that it?
Am I the only one who sees.

It comes with a pad that attaches to your electric drill, then a series of "sandpapers" (2 grits, a final fine pad, then a "sponge" pad used with the final polish).

The instructions mention a sealer that is not included with the kit. I'm tempted to see if any auto parts stores around me carry it.

i used the Meguiar's Headlight and Clear Plastic Restoration Kit
this fall it worked great on my 2002 Saturn vue and the wifes 2008 Saturn vue . we tried it on my friends Chrysler mini van and didn't do much to help. kit was normally $24.99 but i got it on sale for $15.00 i like it becouse it was less work .just attach the buffer wheel thats in the kit to a cordless drill. a nickle size dab of the liquid to the pad. and then use the cloth supplyed to buff the headlight and your done. took like 1-2 mins per headlight and there a ton of compound left for more cars.

Mineral spirits and a rag, applied with vigor, works as well.

a buddy of mine got the $8 kit from Harbor Freight. It worked wonders on his car but it takes a lot of time. 12 min a light.
