I dunno if I mentioned it last week, but I took a bit of a header in the parking lot last week. Mis laid the curb somehow, and started doing the whole flailing forward thing. I had an odd moment of clarity, a moment I've only read about but never experienced, where everything slowed down to a crawl and I was allowed this moment to contemplate things.

I thought for a moment, and said to myself, "well buddy, I think you are going to fall."

I thought about that.

I thought, I don't want to break my glasses.

I thought, I don't want to break my teeth.

I thought, my phone is in my left pocket, and I don't want to break that.

Plan well in hand, time sped up again till I found myself bouncing around the tar, rebounding off my hands and knees. Stumbling to my car, wondering if everyone around thought I was drunk, I took stock and found, nothing broken.

My hands, knees and hip, however, seriously questioned my priorities.
