    Exclamation animal killing

That should have never aired on tv. That was just plain sick, and the guy that did it was even sicker. Survivor will not grace my television ever again!

    Exclamation losers

Everyone jumps on the "help the poor animals campain" but where are these warm hearted activists when theres muslum women being raped and enslaved in Bosnia by Surb soldiers???Or how about the New York Losers(including cops)whom either groped, raped ,& witnessed women being attaced in Central park last year??? AND YES THERE WAS VIDEO TAPE OF COPS STANDING THERE DOING NOTHING TO STOP IT!!!!Heres my point...If bad things that are inherantly evil happens to innocent people..Everyone figures thats just a part of life and the story gets shuffled to the middle or end of EVERY newspaper...But GOD forbid if people accually happen to kill and eat their own food, or kill a dangerous dog that has just killed a young women..I think my point has been made..Most people know whats right and whats wrong..But i just wish that these activist/PETA losers would learn this too...not everyone in the world is a wife beating , animal sacrificing , child molesting drug induced freak...But activists would like you to think so....OUT

they arent mad about the pig getting killed.

they think that the producer was in some way involved in getting the pig near that area so it would be killed.

i dont really care either way, i dont even watch survivor.

Yeah, I caught a bit about this on the news (i fargin hate these reality shows)..

What the activists are [rightly] pissed about is that it's possible the pig was planted there, in which case they really did violate some rights. Yeah, slaughtering for food is ok (err, ok to an extent. the amount of meat americans consume is sick), but the slaughtering of a trapped 'wild' animal for the sake of ratings is pretty disturbing.

    Thumbs down pssh...

dont see any activists opening their mouths over roaches! they set a wild pig "into the wild" its not domestic. thats assuming it was released and not there the whole time.

I think it would be kinda funny to have the survivors all in a little place and then let a bigger animal that could defend itself out. Like a bull or something.

Make it fair at least. A little pig?

    Exclamation reaction

Yes, I do belive the pig was planted ! But I also didnt like the way the guy acted after he killed the animal. Thier was no reason to spread blood underneith his eyes, acting like a maniac. He really looked like he enjoyed the killing, instead of doing it for survival.

If I didnt have any food, I would do what I had to do. But thats not on TV, and I wouldnt act proud about it. I would do it to survive.

Lightbulb Those pigs are an introduced species anyway... <m>

Those pigs are a feral (introduced, non-native) species. If you watch the croc hunter, he's always talking about feral cats, feral pigs, feral cain toads, etc. Steve ***** doesn't kill them though, he just catches them and takes them somewhere else. Feral species are a nuisance that destroy the balance of things. It didn't bother me that that guy killed that little piggy. If they were hungry they were hungry, at least they ate the thing instead of killing it for no reason. Sure they guy was hamming it up for the camera but i'm willing to bet that was the first time he's killed an animal and he went a little nuts as he was doing it. It's no different than killing the chickens or the rats. As for PETA and those other wackos, they need to get a life. No one is innocent in this world, we'll all burn together.

After a time, feral species become part of the food chain. The nuisance comes about from people over-developing and ruining natural habitat.

All the hunters think they're doing the world a favor because they keep the populations down. Populations are so high because folks have killed off natural predators and forced whole populations to live in tiny little habitats.

that that guy killed that little piggy. If they were hungry they were hungry, at least they ate the thing instead of killing it for no reason.
The only reason I can see for killing a planted pig is ratings. They could just have easily have dropped in some pork loin or something and had em cook it over a fire. But no. They want people watching their crap, so they pull stunts like this.

Again, this is all if they had in fact planted the pig there.

It's no different than killing the chickens or the rats. As for PETA and those other wackos, they need to get a life. No one is innocent in this world, we'll all burn together.
I agree, it's no different than killing chickens or rats. That too was wrong. Not because I don't believe people shouldn't be eating meat. When you're doing this for entertainment, I have a serious problem with it. There's absolutely no reason that these people should even be in these places.

And your comment about no one being innocent is just foolish. PETA are an extreme group, but their existence is brought about because of pointless acts like those above and the fact that people excuse them without any revulsion.

Maybe next year, they'll head to pristine Alaska and start drilling for oil!

Haven't you ever seen the movie "Lord of the Flies"?

    http://us.imdb.com/Title?0100054

Thats where he got that from. Besides, the guy is a hunter, he was proud to feed the tribe, and raise his chances of making a million bucks. Kinda like when your cat kills a mouse or something and brings it into the house and shows it off. My cat does that all the time, and it would make my mom crazy. LOL!

    ummm....

whoever watches that thing on ad critic....

don't you guys find it a TAD BIT cryptic... that after 'most will be put to death' part...

they show TWO KITTENS ON A PLATE!

what the hell does that mean?!

    jesus christ!!

these activists!! they sure have their shit mixed up! hehehe

reminds me of this short stiry I read for english class.. some guy falls in love over this activist.. and starts doing things with her.. to get into her pants... and it finally works.. he ditches his job and everything for her (story starts off at a beach).....

so.... it's getting time for thanksgiving... and they want to free all these turkeys up.. so they wouldn't get slaughtered...

it turns out to be him...her.. and a THIRD MAN... the girl and the THIRD MAN ditch the main character.. and he gets trampled on by the turkeys and his face gets thrown in turkey crap (symbolism).....

so.. they come back for him.. and she ends p ditching him for the THIRD GUY (love that emphasis!)...

heheh.. so the story ends in a twist of irony.. cuase all those PRECIOUS turkeys that they saved from slaughtering.. had wondered off to the local highway.. and were splattered all over the freeway!!

    WAY TO GO ACTIVISTS!! YAY!

    --==--

"And that folks..... is... THE BOTTOM LINE!"

Urm... it's just a story. Nothing to get so overly excited about.

Now, if it was a "true story" (not just based on one)...

No, I don't like those silly over-the-top activists much. Can you tell?

I think its simple, if they planted the pig, that's bad because its somewhat inhumane.

If they didn't then its good. He killed a non-native animal that destroys the native environment. Even if you don't believe that, in general, non-native wildlife shouldn't be eradicated (i.e., crazy), then the guy probably fulfilled the usual hunter role in nature. He killed the weakest, slowest pig. Cause come on, what normal pig is gonna let a guy with a knife stab it to death without getting a few good licks in itself. Those pigs are supposed to be able to defend themselves pretty damn well.

And finally, after killing an animal with your hands (ie without a gun), you should be able to revel a little. Hey, even guys who kill animals with guns have crazy celebrations.

This is sort of reminiscent of lamers who are proud to shoot tame animals in fenced off areas. Its not very sporting.

TV Producer: "We're going to plant this wild pig right here."

You better run babe 'cause I'm going to eat ya tonight:

ironchef worried aloud: "Maybe next year, they'll head to pristine Alaska and start drilling for oil!" The sooner the better. There's no good reason for America to be so dependent on other countries for oil when oil can be extracted here without harming the environment.

How exectly can oil be extracted here without harming a pristine environment?

    Cool Time to start drilling...

ironchef in desperate need of a spellchecker asked the following question
How exectly can oil be extracted here without harming a pristine environment?
Technology currently exists that can extract the oil with a minimal impact upon the environment. This oil of course is better heating people's houses rather than stuck in the ground where it does no good. It would be wise to educate yourself about such methods.

and further proclaimed his feeblemindedness with the following statement:
sounds like another brainwashed ditto head
    ditto

    Re: Time to start drilling...

    lacking grammatical sense, sbp says:
Technology currently exists that can extract the oil with a minimal impact upon the environment. This oil of course is better heating people's houses rather than stuck in the ground where it does no good. It would be wise to educate yourself about such methods.
We're talking about some of the last remaining pristine wilderness in the fargin world. You want to inflict a minimal impact upon it?

and proves that his statements regarding environmental matters are totally bunk by replying:
    ditto
Rush has some good qualities about him... environmental sense isn't one of them.

BTW, what's up with the threading in some of these forums? I'm seeing messages up top that shouldn't be there..

    Wink

There has to be a balance between economic and environmental concerns. So-called environmentalists go too far and want to stop progress with fearmongering. Just like they wanted to stop the new Wilson bridge from going up. Well its going up no matter what the putz's say. In fact we need another river crossing to be constructed.

All the messages in the forums are fine.

and the pork loin they drop in would come from where? A pork loin bush? Someone would have had to kill the pig...

Not eating meat on TV??? huh? i guess we should get after all those fast food places because they enjoy eating meat in the commercials... or there should be an uproar everytime someone has a meal on television..

those people are in those places because they are... if they were in their respective homes I'm pretty sure they'd have had more meat than that one pig. At least he had the guts to do his own dirty work. he killed it he ate it nuff said

I couldn't agree more. I am all in favor of big business and capitalism. But, capitalism in its true form exists not at the cost of others. It's a fair trade of value. I personally think the value of Alaskan wilderness far exceeds the gains to be made from drilling there, as I'm sure do the folks who are opposed to it. Oil reserves are most likely going to be depleted within the century, regardless or whether we sacrifice Alaska. There are alternative fuels out there that do not rely on petroleum.

And are you referring to the Woodrow Wilson bridge in Alexandria, VA? If so, I also agree that there should be a new bridge built, one which can occomodate a new metro line. The traffic that silly thing gets easily warrants a new metro line. I thought in the case of this bridge it was the historians and not environmentalists protesting its building?

When was the last time you watched a pig, cow or chicken get slaughtered on TV (aside from this stupid show)?

The slaughter is not something that I find entertaining. That is what I said. Hunting is fine. In fact, I'm in favor of it as opposed to store-bought stuff. But, real hunters don't run after a little pig that [may have been/was] planted there by TV execs in order to boost ratings.

The reason I favor hunting is that these animals have lived in their natural environment, not cooped in a cage and not bred because most folks need a steak with every meal.

Yes I'm talking about the New Wilson bridge. Some environmentalists don't want the bridge to go up because it will harm the rivers ecosystem and a few nesting bald eagles.
