Norton Ghost 6.5 restore problems

I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I have a ghost image spanned on two CD's the first one is bootable with the various MS-DOS drivers and such and on the second CD the 2nd half of the image. After booting the first CD and doing a sucessful ghost the program is set to exit automatically. At that point I get a "command.com is missing error", I guess because the command.com file is on the first CD. How can I get the ghost program to exit properly? Do I need to put any files on the second CD??

When you made the image did it say: "Dump completed succesfully" or display some error? You can check if your image is indeed valid by doing the following: "Local->Check->Image file.
Now select the partition where you put the image file and select the image file you created, and hit OK.
Ghost should tell you if the image file is valid ore not...

Yes the dump is done sucessfully.....its when the program exits back to DOS that I get an error. The command.com is one the first CD and since the image is spanned when it exits there is no place to reload command.com. What can I do?!?! I dying here.!! I tried to place the command.com on the second CD with no results. I tried to make the second CD bootable with the same files on the first with no results....what can I try next?? Is there a batch command or config.sys command that can point to where the program can find the command.com upon ghost's exit? Come on DOS guys let me know.

What error code was displayed exactly?
I suppose you already know this but this is how you restore a file or directory.

To restore a file or directory from an image file:
1 Open the image file in Ghost Explorer, and select the file or directory
to be restored.
2 On the File menu, click Restore.
3 Select where you want to restore the file or directory.
4 Click Restore to restore the file or directory to the chosen directory.

Note: You can also drag and drop a file from Ghost Explorer to Windows Explorer to restore it.

Have you tried the drag and drop methode?

Don't panic we will find a way to get it working....

Thanks for your help....I kind of have it figured out. Basically I needed it on a bootable CD so I can boot my computer with the image CD and have the computer all restored. I used batch files and a RAMDisk to copy the command.com to and run ghost from there,... as soon as the program is finished it exits to the RAMDisk where there I can execute any other commands that I wish or just reboot.

Thanks for your help though, it gave me some really good insight on the possibilities.
