    Thumbs up

Well, I finally purchased online from Staples recently. I bought TurboTax Deluxe and State($75.49) plus two other items and used the $30 off $100 coupon which basically gave me the other two items for $3.29. Then of course there are the 2 quicken rebates totalling $39.95. So the total comes to $38.83.

Staples, however, screwed up the delivery for two days despite the fact I live about 3 miles from the store. The first day the delivery was a no show and the second day it was reported as a refused delivery, and therefore the order cancelled...I still want to know who refused my delivery.

So I called customer service for the second time and told the service rep my woes. He placed a new order. I offhandedly mentioned that I get UPS deliveries and USPS deliveries frequently with almost all deliveries getting through and, if not, a note always left, so he offered to have my order sent UPS, to which I readily agreed. And so my new order arrived promptly the next day. Which made me happy.

Then 20 days later I checked my bank account online and found that although I was charged $78.78, I was creditted $111.18,
$32.40 more than I was charged. So being the good citizen that I am, I called customer service to report it to them. And the most amazing thing happened. The rep looked at my account and saw the problems I had and said "Don't worry, keep the extra as an additional discount for your troubles."

So the total on my order, after rebates will now be $6.43. Most amazing.

I must commend you for being so honest and calling them about the difference. Most people would not have done so.

    hehehe..
back when they had the $150 off a $150 order... they screwed up and sent me 2 of the same orders... so i tried to hide one from them.. but they caught on...

and I could only use the receipt to file a dispute with ONE of the orders.. I did eventually win the dispute.. cause I had saved my records from the online website....

they suck and deserve to get screwed!

could you believe they CANCELLED my order for 100 of those laptop bags?!

now where am I going to keep my 100 laptops?!

    SHEESH!

    yay morals

anyhow, on a less sarcastic note....i would like to say that i definitely would have done the same thing. i dunno if it's so much a moral thing as i don't see an alternative. no, wait, i guess that is a moral thing. well, let's just say i wouldn't debate and say stuff like, "what would so-and-so do?" nevermind. i am obviously full of myself

Talking I got a story too

I bought a scanner from staples a couple of months back. It was that cheap ass Memorex scanner that had a rebate on it and was only supposed to cost like $20 or $30 or something. When it came I couldn't get it to work, so I called staples and told them my problem. They said they'll take it back. I told them fine.

The next day the guy comes to pick it up. I'm like "It's not ready yet". So he says "Ok, when my office calls, just tell them that." The office never called, and my money never got returned. So I called them a few times, and finally, I got a refund on my credit card and still no one came to pick up the scanner. Oh well... maybe I'll get it to work later. Too bad i didn't send it for the rebate :-)

P.S. Now i got the Visioneer 4400 USB from staples, which is either going to be free or $30, depends on whether 1 or 2 rebates come through. It's great.

umm.. i'm not the ONLY one that ordered 100 bags... there was some other guy too.. and HE got 5 packages with his 100 bags!

anyhow.... i figure it like this.. if you're gonna screw a company.. you hit the HARD.. so they feel it coming! that way... you've made your point!

could you imagine? if I HAD gotten them.. and I sold them on ebay for $1 a piece.. that would be GREAT!

but.. now I'm stuck buying 7 dvds for an average price of $10 each.. and selling them on ebay for $15-$20 + shipping...
