I have an old 486 Pentium 25 megahurts and I would like to overclock it to one of these new Athlon processors. My computer also has a modem, cd-rom, and a dot matrix printer.

If only God would give me some clear sign! Like making a large deposit in my name at a Swiss bank. --W.A.
hmm, i think you mean you want to upgrade it.
Overclocking is when you take a CPU (like your 486 25mhz) and run it faster than it was meant to run at (like at 30mhz)
oh, so i can't make my 486 pentium turn into one of those Athlon foot things?

I'm sorry, this might be a little inappropriate, but...
"486 Pentium"?
"25 megahurts"?
"Athlon foot"?
Methinks someone here is having just a wee bit too much fun at our expense.![]()
lol, yeah i thought that at first but thought i'd be nice and take his word for it.
screw overclocking that 486(pentium?!).
if i was you i'd try to overclock the dot matrix printer.
EDIT: i dont know what kind of door you'd be stopping with a 486...
More like a light paperweight, or a keychain is even better.Originally posted by chosenfool
