Voodoo3 3500TV for $65

The Voodoo3 3500 showed the most significant price drop this week and now sells for a mere $65 with $6 s/h. This is an excellent bargain for those looking to add TV&FM in and out capability to their PC and are not necessarily concerned with the highest 3D performance also works well with Linux based systems and you can use utilities like Video Capture and WINVCR and record television shows just like Tivo/Replay TV. It also comes with a purple hub that attaches to the card so you can easily plugin/out your video and audio.

Note: 3DFx used to have a lifetime warranty, which is undetermined if it will be supported by Nvidia.

Have you been able to get any drivers that work well with this card? I've had nothing but problems trying to get not only drivers, but the virtual reality package to display radio and tv? Any ideas?

But when I try to put my resolution any higher than 1024 x 768 the screen on the left gets all outta shape and distorted. I have a monitor that will support up to 1900, but this card.....I dunno.

How does the functionality and driver stability of this card compare to the ATI all in wonder series?

Are the drivers and TV/vcr apps stable under windows 2000?

Got mine running at 1152 x 864 @75Hz looks good to me...
I haven't updated the drivers from the box version...

I won one from a door prize. It is nice for DII.

For video editing I can't get the audio input gains set right. I worked with tdfx while they were still in business and they finally gave up.

I'd say the video capture and tv display is pretty good.
Compression of video is handled alot better on the Radeon All In Wonder than on the Voodoo, remember its older technology a 10 minute MPEG-2 clip will eat up 150Mb on the 3dfx while the RAIW can record 3 hours of MPEG-2 on 5 Gigs
ratio is 15 Mb/minute for the 3dFx and 27.8Mb/min for the ATI almost 2x better, but at a higher pricetag around $215, but definitely the best all-around card out there for video capture, gaming, and 2D (I got one of those too).

But for basic TV and FM(nice to listen to Howard Stern on the computer),DVD, good video resolution, OK for gaming, but not the best compared to the Geforce2or3 or Radeon chip based cards, but more than adequete for an older system.

The win2k drivers are still beta (and will always be) but i've never had any problems with the card or the software under win9x or win2k at resolutions up to 1900.

Just search for "voodoo 3500". The OEM version is showing up at $68.95 and the retail version $175.95.

It says that the video card is made by STB, and not 3dfx. Is there a major difference in who makes the card? Any comments?

3dfx bought STB about a year ago (maybe more) they are (were) the same company, so no it makes no difference.
